Tasker - The Best Android App

When I first installed Tasker, and opened the application, I was like, what the heck, this app is painstakingly difficult to use. I didn't know what should I do with this app. The only thing I knew was that this was a really cool app, and I have to learn how to use this. I found this website called http://tasker.wikidot.com, which helped me know what Tasker actually was. And the POWER it had! But, wait don't go to the website yet, there's more to learn before.

Basically, through Tasker you can make your Android smartphone do "whatever" you want, "whenever you want, and "wherever" you want! There are endless possibilities to Tasker. I know it is a little bit hard for you guys to understand but stay with me, I'd make you learn Tasker, so that you can turn too, turn your Android into a AUTOMATIC SUPER-SMART DEVICE. With Tasker your android smartphone (which is already smart) becomes something beyond our imagination.

You have to make different profiles in Tasker, which would work automatically. For example, wouldn't it be cool if your smartphone automatically connects to your home WiFi Network when you come home. Wouldn't it be cool if your smartphone can send Birthday Message to your relatives and friends automatically. Wouldn't it be awesome, if your smartphone, could start recording video, or take a picture, when someone else tries to unlock your phone. These all any be done only if your Android Smart phone have tasker. THINK OF WHATEVER YOU WANT YOUR ANDROID PHONE TO DO, AND IT WILL DO IT.

Download 14 day free TASKER trial or, scan the QR code from your android device for direct donwload:

You can also Buy full version for only $1.99 (normally it was $6.99)

Now, go ahead and download Tasker, and try to figure out on your own, what it can do. Stay tuned for my Tasker Tutorial. IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTION about Tasker, please ask in the comment below. I'll try to help you guys!

Thank You!

Gaming Emulators for Android

Hey, Nexus 4 owners! You guys are aware of the power of your Nexus 4, which includes a 1.5 Ghz QUAD core processor and 2 gb of RAM. According to me this is the perfect device for gaming. Gaming on your Nexus 4 is not just downloading games from the Google Play Store and playing them. There is another way through which you can play games that you were used to play on your Nintendo, Sega console, Game-boy and Play Station 1, on your Nexus 4. This way of playing on your smartphone is through Emulators. There are tons of Emulators available on the App Store for free, specifically for each console. But, there is an emulator called RETRO-ARCH (CLICK HERE to download RetroArch my Google Pay store for free) which pretty much includes all kinds of gaming consoles:

  • PlayStation 1 (emulator: PCSX ReARMed)- Super Nintendo (emulator: SNES9x Next)-
  • Nintendo Entertainment System (emulator: FCEUmm / NEStopia)
  • GameBoy / GameBoy Color (emulator: Gambatte)
  • GameBoy Advance (emulator: VBA Next) (*)
  • Arcade (emulator: Final Burn Alpha)
  • Neo Geo Pocket Color (emulator: Mednafen NGP)
  • Virtual Boy (emulator: Mednafen VB)
  • Sega Genesis/Mega Drive (emulator: Genesis Plus GX)
  • Sega Master System/Sega Game Gear (emulator: Genesis Plus GX)
  • Sega CD / Mega CD (emulator: Genesis Plus GX)
  • PC Engine / PC Engine CD (emulator: Mednafen PCE Fast)
  • WonderSwan Color / Crystal (emulator: Mednafen Wonderswan)
  • Cave Story (game engine: NX Engine)
  • Doom 1 / Doom 2 / Ultimate Doom / Final Doom (game engine: prBoom)

So, the way to play your old-school favorite games is that after downloading an emulator, you have to download your favorite game file. You can download these game files from many websites for free. One of the best site for downloading games for your emulator is http://www.roms4droid.com.

After your download your favorite game file on your Android smartphone, you need to open the emulator (Retro-Arch) and run that file. This will load up the game and you can play it from virtual buttons on the screen. To make it more realistic, you can also play these games through a joy-stick or a controller. A very good wireless, Bluetooth controller is provided by Phone Joy (http://www.phonejoy.us/), it costs about $50, but it's worth it. The video below shows PS one game being played with a wireless controller on an Android smartphone.

To have more fun, you can also connect your smartphone to a larger display like a TV. This can be done by using an OTG cable. An OTG cable can connect your Nexus 4 (or any other android smartphone) to the TV. Nexus 4 OTG cable can be bought from amazon for around $6.00. CLICK HERE to buy the Nexus OTG cable from Amazon.

Send "unlimited" SMS to a number WITH 1 click (at once)

These is a free android app called "SMS Barrage", through which you can send UNLIMITED sms to a number with a single click.(Note: Some devices can only send a max of 100 sms at once). First of all, you put the number of the person you want to send the message. Then type your message, and finally select How many times do you want to send this message to that person. You can also set the delay between every sms sent.Like you can set that you want to sent the messages with the interval of 5 seconds.) Here you tap just one button, and your android phone would send, lets say 1000 sms to the person.

WARNING: Every sms would be sent via your sms plan (provided by cellular provider), so, if you don't have an UNLIMITED SMS plan, don't use this App or it will cost you money. SO, USE IT ON YOUR OWN RISK..!!!
Developer's Note: "The use of this program is allowed only for legal purposes. Spamming of any kind is strictly prohibited. You, the user, accept any and all responsibility by using this program"

You won't find this app on the android market, I don't know why the android market has removed it. Still, you can download the .APK from the link below.

The NEXUS 4 Journey

Part 1:

I just wanted to get my hands on to the Nexus 4 as soon as possible, but the biggest challenge in front of me was its availability. Nexus 4 was officially released in the United States on 13th November, 2012 (Yes, I remembered the date on top of my head). I promised myself not to pre-order it and have one after about a week, so that I could read people’s reviews about it. The next day I went on the Google’s website to further read Nexus4’s specs, I found out that the one day old smartphone was OUT OF STOCK. I refreshed the page to make sure; I was looking at the right product. But, no use, the Nexus4 was actually gone out of stock. This really disappointed me as Google didn't tell when it will come back on sale.

I waited for about 2 months when I heard the news that the Nexus4 was back on sale (It was probably the last week of January, 2013). During these 2 months, I read people’s reviews, watched Nexus4 hands on videos and surfed each and every good and bad point of the Nexus4. After analyzing, I came to the conclusion that Nexus4 is the best smartphone in market according to its price ($299.99 for 8 GB model and $349.99 for 16 GB model) and was right for me. This was the kind of Android I wanted, with latest version of android (4.2, with some cool features) and a powerful processor.

The only thing that was worrying me was the reviews of some people saying that the battery on Nexus4 sucks. Well, I didn't care about the battery timing much, so I immediately ordered one. Google said that they would ship my Nexus4 within 2 -3 weeks (Neither did I care how long it would take to deliver as long as I know I was soon getting one). The Nexus4 actually came after 1 week, which was a great surprise.

...........................
Stay tuned for my next article (Part 2) in which I’ll tell my Nexus 4 experience and some cool things that I did with it.
