"Super Video"- Tablet app review

Today, I would like to share an Android TABLET app with you guys. The name of the app is "Super Video, Floating and Popup". It is basically a unique video player, which plays videos in a pop up screen, as seen below:

Yes, you can resize the screen of the player, just by holding the corner and dragging it. You can also move the pop up screen anywhere just by holding it and moving it. This way it won't block your screen. With this awesome app you can do whatever you want in the background while watching a video at the same time. You can browse the web, send emails or do whatever you want while watching your favorite movie on your "ANDROID" tablet.

{This app shows the power of android and I bet there is no iOS app like this, because it doesn't have the capacity to do "Real Multi-tasking"......NO offense but this is the TRUTH}

The only  regret that I have is that you can only see those videos with this app, which are installed on your Tablet. I wish a future update would include a feature through with we could also watch YouTube videos on a pop-up screen. Wouldn't that be more cool?

Android - An Open Source Platform

[Note: This article is not written by me, see the name of the writer below]

If you’re like me interested in modifying you phone to the max, the most important thing is the code, why you ask me … well for one the code gives you an insight into the inner works of the software and is the key to any kind of modification, superficial  or core one, android has always been an open sourced platform that publishes it’s source through its open source project page where developers and even hobbyists can check it out and contribute bug fixes and suggest improvements https://androidreview.googlesource.com/#/q/status:open,n,z

All is fine then….but:
Being open sourced the OEMs have the right to modify vanilla android “nexus android for the non techies” and add their skins that very from design changes to libraries recording, similar to drivers, all of these changes result in the new firmware flocking away from the vanilla configuration so any type of proper modification is going to require much more work to first decipher the code and then be able to modify it. The source code acts as a blueprint to the alien code thus giving developers more freedom.

A personal experience:
I’m no developer but I’ve up-close with some of the most developer unfriendly devices, galaxy SII and SIII, ask any cyanogen mod maintainer the biggest problem they face and they immediately tell you the lack of source and documentation , team hacksung the cm maintainers for the galaxy family of devices have declared they weren't planning to buy or maintain the SIV http://forum.xdadevelopers.com/showpost.php?p=39255132&postcount=27 as they've long suffered Samsung’s unwillingness to publish code ,yes they publish code… but it doesn't contain anything useful to the developers : a hole topic on the subject here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1929188, not to mention other firms not even offering any code.

The GPL fraud:
All of the manufacturers that adopt android as their operation system are required to comply to the terms and conditions of GPL licensing while all of them pretend to comply only a few really do, Sony for example,  while it’s the gnu project’s responsibility to review the status of the firms and decide to grant them the license or withdraw it, it is also the consumers responsibility to boycott these firms until they start to follow the terms as boycott is and will always be the consumer’s single greatest weapon.

What it means to the average consumer:
Source availability virtually unlimited firmware updates, your phone will no longer be bound by the latter most firmware that your manufacturer decides to ditch your phone at , I meant your Motorola and htc, all thanks to the magical power and efforts of the developers.

Things you need to know in order to start a Website!

Well, if you want to start a free website, then this article is not for you. You can make free websites/blogs through many sites that provide free web hosting and domain to you. These sites include, the Google's blogger.com, wix.com, webs.com, etc. The disadvantage of make free websites is that they will actually provide a sub-domain to you, which will will working under their domain. For example, www.mywebsite.blogspot.com or, www.webs.com/mywebsite, instead of giving you your own independent domain (www.mywebsite.com). Well, you can buy your own custom domains from them, but still it would cost you more. The other disadvantage is that, these sites will be hosting your website server, and they have full rights of shutting down the website. So, WHY NOT HOST YOUR WEBSITE THROUGH WEBHOSTING COMPANIES like bluehost.com or hostgator.com.

1) Getting  a Domain, and Web-hosting:
Now, domains are very cheap, and they will cost you about $10-$13/year. Hostgator.com gives you a custom domain for $12.95/year. This is not a lot! They provide web-hosting in different packages, and their average rate is about $7.95/month. Yes, web-hosting is $7.95 per MONTH. There are many other websites, which can give you good offers during certain time periods. Currently, Bluehost.com is offering the cheapest webhosting for only $4.95/MONTH and they are also giving a free domain, it means that you don't have to pay an extra $12/year for domain. That's a pretty good deal. So, let talk how we can get web-hosting and domain from bluehost.com:

  • Click on Sign Up to get signed up with bluehost.com
  • Choose whatever package suits you; if you are a beginner, I recommend choosing the $4.95/month plan.
  • After this you'll be asked to choose your domain.
  • Lastly, when to pay, they will provide you with all the details about your website. You'll be given access inside your website, to edit and post stuff.
  • Now, all you have to do is download a website designing software like WordPress to design your website; this leads us to step 2.

2) Downloading WordPress and designing website:
Now that you have your own website with a custom domain, and a company that is providing web-hosting for you, you can start setting up and editing your website. In order to do that follow the steps:

  • Note: don't go to wordpress.com and download WordPress, you need to link WordPress to your website and in order to do that you have to download WordPress from your website account.
  • You will be provided by a username and password from bluehost.com to access your website's managing page, here you will be asked to download WordPress, and this will automatically link WordPress to your website. Note: Installing and signing up for WordPress is completely FREE.
  • After, you install WordPress on your website, you will be emailed with a WordPress username and password, which you can use to access your WordPress account.
  • You are good to go, as you have a custom domain, a web-hosting company and a software to design websites.
IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS PLEASE ASK IN THE COMMENTS AREA.
Thank You!

Galaxy S4 experience on Any Android (Wave Control app)

Everybody wants to get their hands on to the upcoming Samsung's Galaxy S4. The reason might be simple, just because of its new features which includes, an eye sensor, through which a video will automatically paused if you look away from the screen and will play again (automatically) when you see towards the screen. Pretty Cool! Another awesome feature is that now you don't have to touch your smartphone's screen to swipe up and down, or left and right. Simply, wave your finger on top of the screen without even touching it and the S4's sensor will sense the movement of your finger and perform the required task.
You can experience a part of this new feature on any android smartphone, with the help of a free app called Wave Control. Of course, you won't be able to have full control like, S4. But, still it's a great experience, as you can swipe your finger across the screen to play, pause and change songs. This is not it, you can do much more; apart from controlling your music, you can also control your video playback and call with the paid version, so go ahead an download:

See the video below to see how Wave Control work:

Nexus 4 Bluetooth Problem

One day, I decided to send a file to my friend through my Nexus 4's bluetooth, but I wasn't able to turn the bluetooth on. Everytime I try to slide the slider toward ON, it automatically turns OFF at once At first, I thought that I accidently swiped my finger on the screen which made it turn off. But, that was not the case, it wasn't actually turning ON. Then I thought, there might be a secret lock set on my bluetooth that is preventing it to turn on, but i was wrong! There was a serious problem with it. I decided to turn the bluetooth on through the power widget on my homescreen, but as expected, still NO BLUETOOTH. Finally, I decided to reboot my Nexus 4, to see if it works. And, guess what, after I re-booted my Nexus 4, the bluetooth actually worked and turned ON and OFF with out any problem, and I was able to send the file on my friend's S3.

Then, after a couple of weeks, I decided to transfer some songs from my tablet to my Nexus 4. I again have to experience that annoying situation when my bluetooth was not turn on. Atleast, this time I was alone, and don't have to get embarrass in front of my friend. But, I got worried because, I now knew that this is a serious problem; either there's a virus on my Nexus 4 or, it's a bug in the new Android 4.2 Jellybean. I decided to FACTORY RESET my Nexus 4 which was just 2 weeks old.

Here's the Solution:
After I factory reset the Nexus 4, I was able to use the the bluetooth without any trouble. Now, almost 3 months have passed, and I haven't experienced any problem wiht the Nexus 4's bluetooth. So, guys according to me, it is not a software issue. There might have been a virus on my Nexus 4 that was prevent me to turn the bluetooth on. So, people who are experiencing the same problem, can try this method.  IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTION, PLEASE ASK IN THE COMMENT BOX BELOW.

Thank You!

Call USA and Canadian Numbers for FREE

Hello Everyone!
In this article I would like to share a way (app) with you, through which you’d be able to call any USA and Canadian mobile or landline number for FREE. This article is not a scam, and actually works. You guys might have heard about Magic Jack that connects with your home Wi-Fi network and allow you to make unlimited calls to USA and Canada, for just an annual fee about $60. They have also made an application for Android users, called MAGICJACK APP, which is free and you don't have to pay any kind of monthly or annual fee to make calls. The First thing you have to do is download that free app from Google Play Store. The download link is below, but please first read the following to understand how to use it!

After installing the application follow these steps:

1.      When you will open the MAGICJACK APP, it will ask you to make a Magic Jack account, to make free calls. You will also see an option through which you can immediately make calls, without signing up for magic jack account. But, I prefer to make an account, because you will have your own Magic Jack number, and all your contacts will be saved in your account.

2.      After you have made the account, go ahead and call any US or Canadian number, and you will be amazed by the quality of the call, and the best part is its completely free.

3.      Now, how can other people can you on your magic jack number? When you call someone with your Magic Jack App, the number they see on their cell phone is not actually your magic jack number. When you call that person again, they will see the same number. But, when you call any other person, they will see a different number. It means that your Magic Jack number will be different for different people. For Example, if you call Person 1, he will see, let’s say (732)-222-4444. And whenever you again call him, he will see the same number. This means that according to him, (732)-222-4444 is your number, and if he has to call you he has to dial (732)-222-4444. But, when you call any other person (Person 2), he will see, some other number, say (732)-333-9999. THIS MEANS YOUR MAGIC JACK NUMBER is different for every person. This can be cool, but at the same time annoying. Because you can’t tell your number to anyone; in order for to tell your number to a person, you have to call him first so that he can save your number.

4.      But, if you want to get your own number, you can buy it with a 1 time fee of $15.

The thing I like most about this app is that, even if you are not connected to the internet, people can send voice mails to you. Well, the best way to know how Magic Jack app work, is by actually using it. So, go ahead and download MAGICJACK

IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS PLEASE ASK IN THE COMMENT BOX!

Thank You!

Tasker - The Best Android App

When I first installed Tasker, and opened the application, I was like, what the heck, this app is painstakingly difficult to use. I didn't know what should I do with this app. The only thing I knew was that this was a really cool app, and I have to learn how to use this. I found this website called http://tasker.wikidot.com, which helped me know what Tasker actually was. And the POWER it had! But, wait don't go to the website yet, there's more to learn before.

Basically, through Tasker you can make your Android smartphone do "whatever" you want, "whenever you want, and "wherever" you want! There are endless possibilities to Tasker. These all any be done only if your Android Smart phone have tasker. THINK OF WHATEVER YOU WANT YOUR ANDROID PHONE TO DO, AND IT WILL DO IT.

Gaming Emulators for Android

Hey, Nexus 4 owners! You guys are aware of the power of your Nexus 4, which includes a 1.5 Ghz QUAD core processor and 2 gb of RAM. According to me this is the perfect device for gaming. Gaming on your Nexus 4 is not just downloading games from the Google Play Store and playing them. There is another way through which you can play games that you were used to play on your Nintendo, Sega console, Game-boy and Play Station 1, on your Nexus 4. This way of playing on your smartphone is through Emulators. There are tons of Emulators available on the App Store for free, specifically for each console. But, there is an emulator called RETRO-ARCH (CLICK HERE to download RetroArch my Google Pay store for free) which pretty much includes all kinds of gaming consoles:

  • PlayStation 1 (emulator: PCSX ReARMed)- Super Nintendo (emulator: SNES9x Next)
  • Nintendo Entertainment System (emulator: FCEUmm / NEStopia)
  • GameBoy / GameBoy Color (emulator: Gambatte)
  • GameBoy Advance (emulator: VBA Next) (*)
  • Arcade (emulator: Final Burn Alpha)
  • Neo Geo Pocket Color (emulator: Mednafen NGP)
  • Virtual Boy (emulator: Mednafen VB)
  • Sega Genesis/Mega Drive (emulator: Genesis Plus GX)
  • Sega Master System/Sega Game Gear (emulator: Genesis Plus GX)
  • Sega CD / Mega CD (emulator: Genesis Plus GX)
  • PC Engine / PC Engine CD (emulator: Mednafen PCE Fast)
  • WonderSwan Color / Crystal (emulator: Mednafen Wonderswan)
  • Cave Story (game engine: NX Engine)
  • Doom 1 / Doom 2 / Ultimate Doom / Final Doom (game engine: prBoom)

So, the way to play your old-school favorite games is that after downloading an emulator, you have to download your favorite game file. You can download these game files from many websites for free. One of the best site for downloading games for your emulator is http://www.roms4droid.com.

After your download your favorite game file on your Android smartphone, you need to open the emulator (Retro-Arch) and run that file. This will load up the game and you can play it from virtual buttons on the screen. To make it more realistic, you can also play these games through a joy-stick or a controller. A very good wireless, Bluetooth controller is provided by Phone Joy (http://www.phonejoy.us/), it costs about $50, but it's worth it. The video below shows PS one game being played with a wireless controller on an Android smartphone.

To have more fun, you can also connect your smartphone to a larger display like a TV. This can be done by using an OTG cable. An OTG cable can connect your Nexus 4 (or any other android smartphone) to the TV. Nexus 4 OTG cable can be bought from amazon for around $6.00. CLICK HERE to buy the Nexus OTG cable from Amazon.

The NEXUS 4 Journey

Part 1:

I just wanted to get my hands on to the Nexus 4 as soon as possible, but the biggest challenge in front of me was its availability. Nexus 4 was officially released in the United States on 13th November, 2012 (Yes, I remembered the date on top of my head). I promised myself not to pre-order it and have one after about a week, so that I could read people’s reviews about it. The next day I went on the Google’s website to further read Nexus4’s specs, I found out that the one day old smartphone was OUT OF STOCK. I refreshed the page to make sure; I was looking at the right product. But, no use, the Nexus4 was actually gone out of stock. This really disappointed me as Google didn't tell when it will come back on sale.

I waited for about 2 months when I heard the news that the Nexus4 was back on sale (It was probably the last week of January, 2013). During these 2 months, I read people’s reviews, watched Nexus4 hands on videos and surfed each and every good and bad point of the Nexus4. After analyzing, I came to the conclusion that Nexus4 is the best smartphone in market according to its price ($299.99 for 8 GB model and $349.99 for 16 GB model) and was right for me. This was the kind of Android I wanted, with latest version of android (4.2, with some cool features) and a powerful processor.

The only thing that was worrying me was the reviews of some people saying that the battery on Nexus4 sucks. Well, I didn't care about the battery timing much, so I immediately ordered one. Google said that they would ship my Nexus4 within 2 -3 weeks (Neither did I care how long it would take to deliver as long as I know I was soon getting one). The Nexus4 actually came after 1 week, which was a great surprise.

...........................
Stay tuned for my next article (Part 2) in which I’ll tell my Nexus 4 experience and some cool things that I did with it.
